The first aid requirements for businesses in Alberta are outlined in the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Code (OHS, 2020). It is based on the number of employees actively employed at one time, types of industry/potential hazards, and proximity to the nearest medical facility. Violations against the OHS code may result in ticketing that ranges from $100-$500 per violation and a 15% victim surcharge is applies to each ticket. For more information on offenses, click here.
